Stress and anxiety – diseases of the 21st century

Anxiety disorders and illnesses caused by long-term stress are becoming one of the greatest threats to human health in this century. The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that since the pandemic, such phenomena as anxiety and depression have increased by 25% in the first year of Covid-19 alone[2]. These problems are further deepened by: the pace of life, geopolitical changes, crises: climate, economic, wars.

Despite the progress of technology and automation, people are starting to turn to nature, to their roots, looking for support that will be not only effective but also safe.
and natural. That is why CBD is gaining more and more supporters, and numerous studies confirm the effectiveness of this plant compound with an incredibly broad impact.

CBD – why is it so special?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is an organic chemical compound, one of over 100 cannabinoids found in hemp – plants of the Cannabis sativa species. It is obtained from the stems and leaves of hemp and contains a real wealth of acids, minerals and vitamins. But the most valuable is CBD extract, which has documented therapeutic properties.

For this reason, it is increasingly being called the panacea of the 21st century, because the spectrum of its impact is extremely wide. CBD works on the body and mind, restoring balance to systems and organs, strengthening our immunity, and at the same time bringing much-needed relief and calm.

CBD – how does it work?

CBD has the ability to interact with receptors found in our body's endocannabinoid system. This is a network of receptors located throughout the body, from the brain to the skin to the gut. They are found in all internal systems and organs.

You can read more about the endocannabinoid system in our post here.

There are two types of cannabinoid receptors in our body that CBD binds to. These are CB1 and CB2 receptors. The largest number of CB1 receptors are found in the nervous system, and have even been found in nerve endings, which is why CBD has such a strong effect on the sphere related to well-being and mental balance.

CBD – calms, soothes, provides better sleep

By reacting with the appropriate receptors, CBD can stimulate our nervous system, and the phytocannabinoids contained in cannabidiol, among others, lower cortisol levels and stimulate the production of serotonin - the hormone of happiness.[3].

When it comes to improving the quality of sleep, this advantage is most often indicated by people aged 26-41 (60%) and older people 77+ (78%).

Summary

The benefits of using CBD in the fight against chronic stress include:

  • reduction of muscle tension,
  • lowering cortisol levels
  • improvement in well-being

For any busy and overwhelmed by the pace of everyday life, CBD can be the perfect support in regaining balance and improving the overall quality of life. We all know how much impact the quality and length of sleep have on the overall regeneration and daily functioning of our body.

Peace and balance are invaluable and sought-after commodities in the 21st century. CBD helps achieve them,

How to take CBD?

There are many possibilities, there are preparations available on the market in the form of capsules, jellies, vaporizers, but the most common and in our opinion the best formula is taking cannabidiol in the form full spectrum CBD oil. The drops are taken under the tongue, in a measured dose. It is important that the preparation is marked as full spectrum - because only then does it contain all naturally occurring
in hemp, phytoactive ingredients that have a positive effect on health – including terpenes, flavonoids and other cannabinoids.
